Summary 
The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for resolving all user and support issues related to the Pharmacy robotic automation. This position is responsible for ensuring business processes and quality standards are maintained. The Pharmacy Systems Technician has a positive attitude, is customer service oriented, patient, and willing to train and work with Pharmacy staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Tier II troubleshooting and resolution for all Pharmacy related issues relating to hardware, software, network and communications.
  • Monitor production pharmacy systems and ticket queues for any issues that may arise and respond as needed.
  • Triage system problems/failures, and determine the timeliest resolution path to restore optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with engineering areas and 3rd party vendors as needed to address system issues.
  • Perform repairs to systems as needed. Ensure all tools, meters, other required equipment, and spare parts are available and ready.
  • Coordinate all preventive maintenance activities and ensure all preventive maintenance requirements are completed as needed.
  • Assist in software installations, upgrades, and patches.
  • Communicate with Pharmacy leadership regarding the status of tickets and incidents.
  • Escalate service requests that require vendor support.
  • Work with the Production Support Manager and Level II Tech to ensure requests are routed to the proper resource in order to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain daily and monthly logs on all repairs performed on equipment in the Pharmacy.
  • Maintain and manage an inventory of all spare parts related to the Pharmacy.
  • Document all configurations and resolutions.
  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Available during non-Pharmacy hours to resolve system issues as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in an IT or Pharmacy support environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with desktop PC’s, Windows, software installation, hardware required.
  • Familiarity with AutoBagger, Innovative Associates, RX Automated Solutions & Flexlink preferred.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems including tubing and actuators preferred.
  • Ability to communicate, train, work with and build relationships with end users.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technician level knowledge of installing, troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical systems.
  • Ensure that all related work is performed properly, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
  • General understanding of desktop, server and network technologies.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical operations used for troubleshooting mechanical failures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.

Pay Transparency For Colorado State

The average pay range for this role is $25 - $30 an hour. 
*Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors including location, experience, education, licenses/certifications, and other applicable qualifications. 

 
Work Environment / Physical Demands 
This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment. May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients. Some travel may be required.
